At first-glance, Governor Tom Wolf's budget proposal looked as though it was beneficial to Penn State as a whole, but upon closer review, students' wallets may be taking a hit after all.
Faculty, staff, and students were only alerted via PSU Alert that classes and campus activities were cancelled at 9:03 a.m. -- less than an hour before classes were set to resume.
In his proposed state budget released today, Wolf appropriated $263.7 million for the university for an increase of 23 percent over last year's appropriation by Tom Corbett. The budget still has to get through the Republican-dominated legislature, which may see Penn State's take decrease before it is approved.
The long anticipated HUB Expansion project has finally come to fruition following what seemed to be never-ending construction.
