Just a year ago Penn State football pulled in the hottest recruiting class in the Big Ten, attracting 6 of ESPN's top-150 high school players and 14 other high school athletes primed for success. 2011 is not shaping up quite the same... so far.
With signing day not until February, Indiana leads the Big ten with 20 verbal commitments. Ohio State follows with 17 verbal commitments and Nebraska has 12-- the Nittany Lions have just 4. After stockpiling prospects last year quality is certainly better than quantity, but the clock is ticking for Penn State. No other team in the conference is lacking in numbers like Penn State.

Penn State students bought more season tickets in 2010 than any other school in the nation, so crowd flow and safety is a major concern. Part of a three-year project, Gate A will be remodeled to allow a greater number of individual entry gates and ticket kiosks, along with professional landscape details to top it off.

After reaching the national finals in 2008, former Penn State wrestler Bubba Jenkins is taking his talents southwest to Arizona State for this coming wrestling season. Penn State revoked Jenkins' scholarship in December after an oil and water type of relationship with legendary head coach Cael Sanderson. Jenkins reportedly had trouble with Coach Sanderson's intense workouts and hard-nosed coaching philosophies, which had led Sanderson to an undefeated college career along with 4 national championships and an Olympic gold medal.
