Sandusky Appeal Denied By Superior Court

Jerry Sandusky's appeal of the 45 counts of child sexual abuse he was convicted of last year was denied by the Superior Court of Pennsylvania today. Sandusky was sentenced to 30 to 90 years for the abuse, which took place between 1995 and 2008. The appeal argued that the sentence should be reversed based on four points of contention with the trial.

O’Brien Presser: Penn State Ready To Take On A Tough Indiana Offense

Bill O'Brien typically takes the politically correct route when answering questions about opponents during his weekly press conferences. When asked about a weaker team like Eastern Michigan he might offer some short answers, saying that they're a tough team. But that wasn't the case on Tuesday when O'Brien was asked about the Indiana Hoosiers.

Vote Bill O’Brien For Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award

It's time again to start voting for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year, an award that goes to the college football coach who best demonstrates "responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the field." Over the summer when electronic dance music producer and Penn State student Keegan Tawa was collaborating with vocalist Kathleen Warner, also a Penn Stater, he wanted to fill her in on the concept behind his newest track: "Return To Matter." “Imagine going on an incredible voyage through space and time and finally, at great length, 'Returning to Matter,'” Tawa said to Warner during one of their summer e-mail correspondences.

Take Aways From Penn State’s Shutout Against Kent State

The Penn State Nittany Lions posted a convincing, decisive win against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday, dominating the team in all three phases en route to a 34-0 victory. Christian Hackenberg and the pass game struggled, but the run game, the defense, and the special teams unit all played great in the team's final non-conference matchup. Here's what we learned about the Nittany Lions in Saturday's game.

Nittany Lions Shut Out Kent State 34-0 In The Rain

It was a rainy afternoon at Beaver Stadium. Neither team managed to get the pass game going as Christian Hackenberg had his worst game as a Penn Stater. The run game was a different story. Zach Zwinak, Bill Belton, and Akeel Lynch combined for 287 yards in the game on 42 carries for a 6.8 yards per carry average. Zwinak scored three short goal-line touchdowns and Belton caught a ball from Hackenberg that led to a score in a game that Penn State won 34-0, the first shutout for the Nittany Lions since 2010 against Kent State.
