According to a release, the panel will discuss COVID-19's delta variant, changes in on-campus health policies for the fall, and Penn State's approach to the academic year.
"As Penn State faculty, we are eager to welcome students back to campus...but we are deeply concerned that our university is unprepared to handle the ongoing increase in COVID-19 cases..."
"We have a duty to protect our communities and all those who belong to the Penn State community, and requiring vaccinations will ensure just that."
To date, Penn State has not required COVID-19 vaccines for students or employees on campus this fall.
Students can receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 26 and 27 in the HUB's Alumni Hall.
In an email, Penn State President Eric Barron said understanding the student body's COVID-19 vaccine status will help the university plan for the fall semester.
