CCSG Council Convenes in the HUB

The Council of Commonwealth Student Governments reconvened today to continue discussions. The meeting began with the University Faculty Senate reports.

Homecoming Week Kicks Off Sunday

Homecoming 2010 kicks off tomorrow with the 2nd annual Homecoming 5K starting from the IM Building at 12pm. Registration begins at the corner of Curtin and University Drive  at 11am.

Festivities continue in Rec Hall on Sunday night with the Homecoming Dance Competition at 7 pm and the Boys Like Girls concert at 8:30.

State Theatre Showing ‘Gasland’ on Sunday

This Sunday, the State Theatre will play one of the most compelling films of 2010 that doesn’t feature sparkly vampires.

Gasland is the story of filmmaker Josh Fox and his adventures across the country to find out about the cartoon supervillian of the USA, the oil industry. Along the way, Fox interviews some people who don’t like the oil industry (everyone who doesn’t make money off the oil industry).

You're wandering downtown State College, looking in the windows displaying plenty of Penn State pride through displays and set-ups in the windows. You've bought every 'State' and 'Happy Valley' item you could manage to fit in your closet from the The Family Clothesline, and there's no good music out at Music Underground (surprising, but it happens).

Maybe you could waste your money on pizza that tastes, and looks, like cardboard. I'm looking at you Canyon. But what shops have we forgotten about? What places have we let go to the wind?

Phi Delta Theta Says Goodbye, For Now

On Thursday, The Daily Collegian published an article announcing the now defunct Phi Delta Theta fraternity has "no plans to recolonize.” When interviewed, Phi Delta Theta's alumni Board of Directors expressed their disagreement with the national associations alcohol policy as the reason why they're not jumping at the bit to recolonize.
