
Property was a hot topic on the agenda last night for the State College Borough Council as members discussed revisions to the Property Maintenance Code and a repair job for a downtown parking garage that will cost more than a million dollars.

State College Mayor Elizabeth Goreham just announced at the Borough Council meeting she will not run for re-election at the end of her term this year. Goreham took office as the first-ever female mayor of State College in 2010 and was re-elected to begin her second term in 2014.

The State College Borough Council will discuss a proposed change to the Nuisance Property Ordinance this evening that would limit the number of people that could be in a fenced-in area at any given time in the Borough. UPUA is strongly urging the council to vote against this amendment, but also strongly urging students to come to the meeting tonight to fight the proposed change.
