
THAW was supposed to turn the faux holiday into a community-oriented event, something could bring local families and students together for film showings, comedians, and musical performances. But in the end, it seemed that the festival's first year was unfortunately a flop, failing to garner any real traction.

Registration is now open for the "Toughest Little Marathon in the East" -- the 3rd Annual Mt. Nittany Marathon on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 7:00 AM. All proceeds from the race benefit the Mount Nittany Conservancy, a public charity whose mission is to conserve and preserve Mt. Nittany, the iconic symbol of Happy Valley.

The State College Borough has announced the LION Challenge Contest, open for all State College community members to submit their unique definition or descriptions of what it means to live in one neighborhood. This slogan contest is open to all community members, and winners will have their submissions published during fall 2015.
