
A bronze statue of Joe Paterno seated on a bench will be erected outside the Tavern Restaurant in November 2015. The statue, designed by sculptor Zenos Frudakis, is in response to Penn State's decision to remove Joe Paterno's statue from Porter Road in July 2012. At the time, President Rodney Erickson called the statue a “lightning rod of controversy.”

The 2nd annual College Town Film Festival is well underway at the State Theater and one of the most prominent features of this year’s festival is special guest James Denton also known as Mike Delfino from Desperate Housewives. The festival features the screenings of several independent films as well as several shorts, one of which stars Denton.
