The number of Penn State seniors playing in postseason contests increased from one to three today as quarterback Matt McGloin and fullback Michael Zordich both accepted invitations to play in All-Star games.

But at least one thing remained the same -- a passionate fan base packing Beaver Stadium every Saturday. According to a release, Penn State ranked 5th in attendance last year of all NCAA teams, with an average of 96,730 fans per game.
Penn State once again made Forbes list of the most valuable college football programs in the country, coming in at number 13. This number is 10 lower than the previous year's 3rd place ranking, which should come as little surprise given the situation the football team faced last year.

With ten reduced scholarships for the next four recruiting classes, developing a successful walk-on program, or run-on as Bill O'Brien has affectionately named it, will be key going forward for Penn State. Yesterday, the Nittany Lions took a big step towards that goal as kicker/punter Chris Gulla, quarterback D.J. Crook, and quarterback Austin Whipple have all joined the program.
