We're just one day away from the start of the 2013 season. Bill O'Brien is entering his second season opener as Penn State's head coach. A new starting quarterback -- either Christian Hackenberg or Tyler Ferguson -- will take his first snap on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions are playing at an NFL stadium -- the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants -- starting at 3:30 p.m. against the Syracuse Orange.

If you're planning to make the trip down to East Rutherford for Penn State’s season opener vs. Syracuse at Metlife Stadium, be advised about the NFL’s new policy concerning bags (hint: it doesn't like them) and what is allowed inside the stadium.

This comes as little surprise after the depth chart was released yesterday, but Bill O'Brien made it official today when he announced that the football team's starting quarterback will not be named before Saturday.

Word has been out for a while that Beaver Stadium will be installing new scoreboards, but Onward State has learned that the new scoreboards will be installed in time for the 2014 season.
