After nine years in the NFL former Penn State defensive tackle Anthony Adams announced his retirement in a very unique way Saturday.
For the past four years, Penn State entered a season with the luxury of having a stud defensive tackle. There was future first-round pick Jared Odrick in 2009, Devon Still in 2010 and 2011, and Jordan Hill last year. Now, that is no longer the case as the Nittany Lions look to reload along the defensive line in 2013.
Despite flying under the radar compared to flashier names, Matt Stankiewitch enjoyed a solid senior season that earned him First Team All-Big Ten honors and an invitation to the NFL Combine. Who is the leader of Penn State?
For much of the last century, Joe Paterno was the easy answer to that question, but these days the answer can be a bit more difficult to figure out. Ostensibly the answer is President Rodney Erickson, although with a large percentage of the alumni-base vocally dissatisfied with his leadership, he doesn't really fit the bill.
