
Staff predictions return for Week 2 as various Onward State writers offer their thoughts on tomorrow's Penn State game. Last week, everyone predicted a victory against the Ohio Bobcats, and everyone was wrong. This week, the picks are less than unanimous as the Nittany Lions (0-1) hit the road to take on the Virginia Cavaliers (1-0).

That's right, no football at Beaver Stadium this weekend. Don't worry though, there's still plenty of great ways to enjoy your gameday Saturday even with the Lions traveling to Virginia.

In an effort to motivate players and keep spirits high, Bill O'Brien has changed the name of two traditional football terms. Walk-on is now "run-on" and scout team is known as "the dirty show."

This weekend, the Penn State football team travels to Charlottesville, Virginia, home to the University of Virginia Cavaliers, also known as the Wahoos. The Penn State Alumni Association will be hosting two events to help Penn State alumni, students and fans headed down to the game get pumped.

It's a new era for Penn State football, and the crowd atmosphere represented that sentiment -- both in positive and negative ways. We lost to Ohio. There's no way around that. I'm still bitter, so forgive my cynicism as I bring you the first "Observations" post of the 2012 season.
