In all my years of attending Penn State games, I’ve seen my fair share of great victories, and I’ve also seen my fair share of crushing defeats. But never have I seen a Penn State team go into another Big Ten team’s stadium in primetime and absolutely demolish its opponent. That’s exactly what I saw Saturday night at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Here’s what I took away from the incredible atmosphere.

Penn State's 38-14 blowout victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes last night at Kinnick Stadium earned the Nittany Lions some additional votes in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. They remain unranked, but received 18 votes, up from the one vote they were given the past two weeks.
A dominant performance from start to finish. It is difficult to come up with a better way to describe what transpired at Kinnick Stadium tonight. When it was over, the scoreboard showed a 38-14 victory for Penn State. Those numbers show a blowout victory for the Nittany Lions (5-2, 3-0) over the Iowa Hawkeyes (4-3, 2-1), and yet, they still do not tell just how much of a smackdown it was.

In anticipation of what is sure to be a hostile environment at Kinnick Stadium tonight when the Iowa Hawkeyes (4-2, 2-0) host the Penn State Nittany Lions (4-2, 2-0), University of Iowa Student Government (UISG) sent a mass email to all Iowa students Friday afternoon encouraging good sportsmanship and no booing when the Nittany Lions take the field.
