Penn State says the interim suspension, which began on November 9, hopes to minimize "continuing risks" as a full investigation continues.
A spokesperson said the university's Office of Student Conduct received information suggesting that Chi Phi engaged in hazing, including alleged forced alcohol consumption.
Ultimately, charges related to hazing, alcohol and drugs, failure to comply with COVID-19-related "expectations," and university regulations prompted the suspension, according to Penn State.
"A girl in Pi Phi FARTED while I was talking to her during house tours. I think this just goes to show what kind of organization this is and what their values are."
