In a career that has already been defined by his ability to overcome the odds, Matt McGloin has made another step towards reaching his dream on Wednesday when Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen named him as the team's starter this weekend. McGloin made his NFL debut as a starting quarterback last Sunday against the Houston Texans in place of an injured Terrelle Pryor, throwing three touchdowns and leading Oakland to a victory.
Senior Day is only three days away, which means more than a dozen Penn State football players will say goodbye to Beaver Stadium. Two of those players -- Garry Gilliam and John Urschel -- have become fan favorites among students after five seasons on the team.
