
Beginning on Aug. 1, Anne Langley will take over as the new Associate Dean for Research, Collections, and Scholarly Communications in Penn State’s University Libraries.

Penn State has received a $30 million grant from NASA to lead a five-year study of carbon-related greenhouse gases. The goal of the study is to better understand and thus better manage climate change.

Penn State alumna Stephanie Wain spent her college career studying film and women's studies, and her hard work has paid off. Wain's film, Stones We Throw, won IndieWire's Project of the Month last year and is now competing for the Project of the Year slot, which allows the winner to attend the Tribeca Film Institute Filmmaker and Industry Meetings at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

The most popular, but least widespread disease in America will not last long if it ever comes to the greater Hershey area. Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) designated Penn State's Hershey Medical center as a spot now qualified to treat Ebola. Since October, there have not been any reports of the disease in the United States. However, the hospital will continue to train its employees in case of an outbreak.

State College finally has its own anthem, courtesy of one very bizarre Spotify artist, "The Guy Who Writes Songs About Cities & Towns." The piece of musical art that I'm referring to is entitled "State College is a Happy Valley Place," and appears on his newly released album, "Pennsylvania Songs: PA Exciting."

Penn State Trustees Anthony Lubrano and Al Lord are seeking information from Chairman Keith Masser about a settlement proposal that Penn State has made to the NCAA in Senator Jake Corman's lawsuit.
