Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship was happy with yesterday's sanction reductions, but not satisfied.

At long last, the days of Penn State's administration standing behind canned marketing ploys like "Penn State Lives Here" could be a thing of the past. Penn State announced the appointment of Lawrence H. Lokman yesterday to be its next vice president for strategic communications, pending approval at next week's Board of Trustees meeting. Lokman is the founder and managing director of Window In Communications in Los Angeles, and served as a vice chancellor in UCLA's communications department from 2002 to 2010.

While Monday was nothing but good news for Penn Staters, Tuesday started off leaving something to be desired, as Penn State fell 11 spots nationally, to a tie for 48th in US News and World Report's annual college rankings.

All in all, yesterday was an eventful day for Dear Old State. And if you're on Twitter, yesterday was even more entertaining thanks to the unbridled happiness of Penn State fans contrasted with the bitterness from Ohio State and Pitt fans. University officials and James Franklin have commented on today's Mitchell Report and NCAA's decision to strike down bowl ban.

Penn State has officially brought "going to the gym" into the future. I'm not sure what everyone had in mind when they heard that the gyms were being revamped, I mean really, how much can a treadmill or any workout machine change? You step on, jog, blast your music, maybe do some reading you had for homework if you were really good at multitasking, and leave. Well, within the last few months Penn State has completely destroyed that stereotype at the new and improved IM Building.
