
After students leave spring commencement, the Bryce Jordan Center will close its doors for the summer to make room for floor and roof repairs. Following the last ceremony on Sunday, May 11, the BJC will be closed until summer commencement on August 16.

Penn State has a new president. Though we'll have to wait until Monday to officially meet him, Onward State broke the news that Dr. Eric J. Barron, the current president of the Florida State University, will succeed Rodney Erickson as Penn State's 18th president.

Onward State has learned exclusively from two sources directly involved with the situation that Florida State President Eric J. Barron will become Penn State's next president. The decision will become official Monday at noon at a previously announced press conference.

A special Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Monday to announce the next Penn State president. Public information announced the meeting at about 1 p.m. today with no information about the purpose but the Centre Daily Times is reporting that the meeting is to name Rodney Erickson's successor.
