
Governor Tom Corbett announced yesterday two nominations for the Penn State Board of Trustees -- Cliff Benson and football letterman Todd Rucci. The pair will replace Ira Lubert and Alvin Clemens, both of whom notified Corbett of their desire to step down from the board. Clemens and Lubert's terms have expired, but they will continue to serve until Benson and Rucci are confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate.

The former Penn State assistant coach and son of Joe Paterno unveiled a website today that indicates he's running for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania on the Democratic ticket.

Joel Myers has been on the Penn State Board of Trustees for 33 years, and he'll hope to make that 36 years after the alumni election in May. He announced his candidacy in an open letter yesterday, and came out swinging against the reform group Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship.
