Although the highlight for most people this Homecoming week will be the Michigan game on Saturday night, there is a still plenty to do all week long as we celebrate Penn State and all of its traditions and history.

Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of the almost 1000 clubs and organizations affiliated with PSU, especially when there are so many cool ones. But, don’t sweat, I’ll give you the lowdown on one Penn State’s newest (and coolest!) initiatives that you should definitely keep a watch for: The GREEN Program.

I recently sat down with the 10 students on this year's Homecoming Court to get to know them a little better and ask them some fun questions they probably don't get asked every day. Penn State welcomed Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson to Eisenhower Auditorium last night as the first of SPA's Distinguished Speaker Series this semester. Johnson spoke to an awestruck crowd on her impressive achievements as an Olympian, Dancing with the Stars champion, and 2009 MLB Celebrity Softball Game participant (not to be ignored).

Penn State is the 49th-ranked university in the world, according to Thomson Reuters’ Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2013-2014.
