
Two very different worlds are not so far apart at Penn State, and most people don’t even realize it. Pieces of this history are all around us, and we often fail to recognize it.

The Blue-White football game wasn't the only thing happening on the field this past Saturday. The Homecoming Executive Committee also revealed the 2013 logo for this year's celebration.

"This wasn’t a position that had initially been on my radar screen," Jones said. "But when I did the campus visit several weeks ago, it didn’t take me too long to figure out I’m in a special place."

Nicholas Jones, the current Benjamin T. Rome Dean of Whiting School at Johns Hopkins University, has been selected as vice president and provost at Penn State. Jones' appointment, effective July 1, is subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees at its May 3 meeting. As vice president and provost, Jones serves as PSU's chief academic officer, reports to the president of the university and acts as chief executive officer in the absence of the president.
Jones was selected for this position at Penn State after the university launched a nationwide search for a permanent leader, as the position was held interim since November 2011 by Robert Pangborn.

At 11:57 a.m. today, a CATA bus and car were involved in an accident near the intersection of Hastings Road and University Drive.
