
As mandated by the NCAA "consent" decree, Sen. George Mitchell has released his third quarterly report on Penn State's athletic integrity compliance. Like the first two reports, it praises Penn State's compliance with all athletic integrity issues and the progress made in implementing recommended changes in the Freeh report.

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA), a self-described "independent, non-profit organization commited to academic freedom, excellence, and accountability at America's colleges" based out of Washington, D.C., has released a statement supporting the recently filed Paterno family lawsuit againt the NCAA.

Ag Trustee Keith Eckel, the chair of the Legal & Compliance Committee, penned an op-ed for the Patriot News published yesterday that lauds the trustees for recent reform and criticizes a "well-funded and highly vocal constituency" (read: PS4RS) that "chooses to forget" the priorities of Penn State.

The following letter was sent from Trustee Ryan McCombie to Trustees Chair Keith Masser yesterday informing him of McCombie's participation in the NCAA lawsuit and dedication to "fairness, due process and the rule of law."

As was announced last night on "Costas tonight," a lawsuit against the NCAA was filed in the Centre County Court of Common Pleas. The lawsuit was filed against the NCAA, Mark Emmert, both individually and as NCAA president, and Ed Ray, former chair of the NCAA Executive Committee.
