I wanted to write about the availability of CAPS during this Mental Health Awareness week because it is so important. The services they provide can save you from so much stress, anxiety, frustration, sadness, and a multitude of other problems. They did just that for me, and I hope, if necessary, they can do the same for you.

UPUA Kills Legislation to Strip Greek Voting Seats

The UPUA Greek Council seats will live to see another assembly.

The legislation proposed by College of Communications Rep. Ryan Belz, which would have stripped the four Greek Councils of their voting privileges in the UPUA, was dead on arrival. In front of an uncharacteristically full gallery in 302 HUB, the Internal Development committee voted 5-2 to indefinitely table the legislation, essentially killing any chance of any such efforts to take away the Greek seats succeeding anytime soon.

Greek Life to Discuss Sexual Assault Prevention

At CFW's meeting on Wednesday Oct. 23, there will be a panel discussion on what sororities and fraternities can do about sexual assault prevention. They're encouraging students to join the conversation, whether they're involved in Greek Life or not.

UPUA Considers Stripping Voting Power From Greek Councils

In what is likely to be the most controversial piece of legislation considered by UPUA in quite some time, Policy 06-08 "Removal of Greek Council Representatives and Addition of Greek Council Liaisons," is expected to be voted on by the Internal Development committee tonight.

2014 Homecoming Date Announced

Penn State Homecoming announced via its Twitter yesterday that Homecoming 2014 will begin on September 20th, leading up to Penn State football's showdown with Northwestern on the 27th.
