THON released an updated 2017 calendar today full of events leading up to the February 17-19 weekend so you can be FTK all year long.
In light of the tragic loss of Penn State sophomore Vitalya "Tally" Sepot after a THON canning trip in September, family and close friends established the Tally Sepot Memorial Award. The award will be given to a student "who demonstrates outstanding service to THON and Penn State."
The public asked THON to do "something" after a car crash returning from a canning trip left one student dead, but cancelling canning was a misguided mistake carried out in the hopes of appeasing a shell-shocked public.
THON announced that it will phase out canning by THON 2019, including a change to canning policies and a decrease in canning weekends for the next two years.
THON announced today that THON Weekend 2017 will be held February 17-19.
The cover band from State College will be playing a free concert next Thursday hosted by the Blue and White Society.
