Every February it happens. A 46 hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon to celebrate life and hope and to remember those that we have lost to pediatric cancer. "Why We Dance: The Story of THON" is the documentary that followed The Penn State Dance Marathon for an entire year to capture the essence of THON and why it means so much to so many people.
As the first Canning Weekend of the year approaches, all of those looking to make the trip must first attend a canning workshop this week. THON has also announced free transportation through Megabus for each of this year's 3 canning weekends.
According to the American Institute of Philanthropy, “most highly efficient philanthropies donate 75 percent of their revenue directly to their beneficiary.” Of the 2012 total, $10,289,884.60 (96.06%) was donated to the The Four Diamonds Fund.
