On those rare occasions, however, change is impossible to avoid, and that was the inevitable situation one year ago. A year later, another game against Nebraska approaches, and this time, rather than chaos, there is a sense of calmness as a bunch of football players have taught a valuable life lesson in dealing with change.

The arrest kicked off the one year that we at Penn State would like to forget most of all. The scandal devastated us, as the school and its symbols we thought we knew seemed to unravel. But I think I've learned more in the past year than perhaps any other.
