“V is for Valley” Celebration Week

This week, Penn State’s very own women’s magazine, Valley, will be hosting some great pep-rally-themed events and giveaways to celebrate the release of their Spring 2010 issue. Each day, look for something new happening in the HUB from 10AM- 3PM, except for Thursday’s events, which will be held in 22 Deike at 7PM.

Here’s a list of giveaways and events:

  • Monday– Gumby’s Pizza
  • Tuesday– Home Reflections is raffling a Vera Bradley tote with a matching ID holder and giving out 100 coupons
  • Wednesday-Free popcorn
  • Thursday– “Meet the Valley Girl” is a chance to talk with the Spring 2010 issue’s featured girl: former THON overall Caitlin Zankowski.“Caitlin has given so much to Penn State, not just through THON but with her work as an industrial engineering major and simply by carrying herself as a strong role model for students. Her story will definitely inspire others to contribute great things to our campus,” said Editor-in-Chief Devin Tomb on why they picked Zankowski. The first thirty people at “Meet the Valley Girl” Thursday will receive discount cards for Looks Hair Design, and two pieces from the student-run brand Lady Vanderbilt will be raffled away.

With so much going on, make sure to stop in to celebrate Valley’s “best issue yet”–you won’t be disappointed!

Kiwi Fro-Yo Comes to Penn State

The Kiwi Yogurt chain is opening its newest store right here in State College, next to the Student Book Store at 324 E. College Ave, this February (no word yet on exact date). Kiwi is a Maine Line, Pa.-based, family-owned company founded in 2008 set on providing “the ultimate dessert experience.”

And it is quite the experience. When you walk in, there is – prepare yourselves – a wall of frozen yogurt options. You get to walk up to this beautiful wall and vend yourself as many flavors as you like.
