Putting the controversy surrounding last year's shirts behind us, 2010's White Out shirts have recently been released for public purchase. Available at the Penn State University Athletics online store, the shirts are selling for $15. Feel like being one of 40,000 people to have the same shirt? Head on over and get one.

It seems like just yesterday that the final total was raised on stage at the end of THON 2010, but the largest student-run philanthropy in the world moves quickly. Applications for select Captain positions have been posted on THON.org this week. THON Captains are in charge of the various projects and events that take place throughout the year and during THON weekend. They report directly to the Overall Committee and many of them oversee committees of their own.

Head coach of the men's soccer program Barry Gorman unexpectedly announced his resignation Monday. He leaves a legacy of 22 years of coaching and three Big Ten titles in his wake. Citing "personal reasons," he has left the team to a nation-wide search for his successor.
"We expected Gorman to be there," [rising Senior and Co-Captain Andres] Casais said of next season. "He was a father figure to us."
Oof, that can't feel good. The move isn't completely out of the blue, as Gorman was periodically absent during the past few weeks without notice. But from all accounts, his intention to resign was only revealed yesterday. On the abandonment scale, this registers just slightly above "going to the store for some cigarettes and never coming back."
Next Tuesday, the CORE Movie Tour will tie down and set up camp at the HUB-Robeson Center for a screening of Chuck Fryberger's climbing documentary CORE. Join the Penn State Outing Club in getting to the heart of climbing, following some of the world's best climbers on their most exotic and difficult endeavors.
The movie has received high reviews for its excellent low-budget cinematography. Shot in 35mm Ultra High Definition, CORE will allow you to see the reality of climbs in places like South Africa and Helsinki, Finland.

The latest addition to the concert menagerie is Celebrate State. According to the Daily Collegian, it is a joint effort of Democracy Matters, Engineers for a Sustainable World, Eco-Action and University Health Services. And guess what? They got over $25,000 dollars for their event.

This week, Penn State’s very own women’s magazine, Valley, will be hosting some great pep-rally-themed events and giveaways to celebrate the release of their Spring 2010 issue. Each day, look for something new happening in the HUB from 10AM- 3PM, except for Thursday’s events, which will be held in 22 Deike at 7PM.
