Independent THON BBQ Held Yesterday

A few THON organizations met for a barbecue at Central Parklet yesterday evening. Dan Levy of Atlas said the idea behind the event was for all the independent THON groups to meet up after a summer away. He said that “a lot of people have the misconception that there’s a rivalry, when that isn’t the case.” Hoping for some potential new recruits to come to the BBQ, Levy and his Atlas pals encouraged people looking to be involved with THON to check out their options and select the group they “click with.”

The picnic also had another purpose: promoting Chegg, an online book rental site. Chegg sponsored the AtlasSpringfieldOhana event, and is even offering 5% off to Penn State students when they enter the code “Nittany” at check out. If PSU rents 500 or more textbooks, Atlas will receive a $750 donation from the company! If you haven’t already gotten your books, check out Chegg’s competitive prices. FTK!

Kiwi Fro-Yo Comes to Penn State

The Kiwi Yogurt chain is opening its newest store right here in State College, next to the Student Book Store at 324 E. College Ave, this February (no word yet on exact date). Kiwi is a Maine Line, Pa.-based, family-owned company founded in 2008 set on providing “the ultimate dessert experience.”

And it is quite the experience. When you walk in, there is – prepare yourselves – a wall of frozen yogurt options. You get to walk up to this beautiful wall and vend yourself as many flavors as you like.
