Jeah! Ryan Lochte Takes On Downtown State College

All it took was one Tweet from eleven-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte for half of Penn State’s campus to swoon.

Once described by NPR as the “platonic ideal of bro-dom,” Lochte is (apparently) a hit with the college female population. Downtown was a bustling clusterfuck last night — there was a 50 person line to drink at the Allen Street Grill for crying out loud — but Twitter quickly became ablaze with Lochte sightings at various State College drinking holes. First, it was Mad Mex:

Then, it was Inferno, where he left an insane tip:

Next up was the Lion’s Den, where he left another I-don’t-know-what-to-do-with-all-my-money-type tip (Update: The server deleted the tweet, but it was a $100 tip on a $64 bill).

Mostly, there was just general fascination:

What is the moral of the story? I don’t know. But, for whatever reason, Ryan Lochte is in town and Penn State Twitter seems to be excited about it.
