Tips & Tricks For Managing What’s Left Of Your Meal Plan

We’re nearing the end of the semester, folks, and your meal plan might be wearing thin. Whether you were just on a level one budget and doomed from the start or had a few too many swipes at Edge on campus, you might be wondering how you’re gonna stay satisfied through finals week.

Here are our best tips to budget your remaining dining dollars and LionCash to stay, at least fed, through your final exams.

*Live* At The Dining Hall

OK, listen: I know. Forcing yourself to spend your dining dollars on the place that it’s actually intended for doesn’t sound great. But if you’re finding yourself in a pinch, the 65% discount can be a serious lifesaver in keeping money in your theoretical meal plan pocket when it matters the most.

If you also spend your finals week studying in the dining hall, you might be able to score two meals for the price of one swipe. Could be the move.

Load Up On LionCash

Depending on how much money you have saved, converting some of your parents’ sweet, sweet liquid cash in your bank account to LionCash might be worth it. Once you’ve exhausted all the dining dollars of your meal plan, money spent at the dining hall using LionCash is still subject to a 10% discount. Anything helps, and if you’re able to save an additional 10% on food, that’s money that’ll be kept in your pocket to push through to the end of the year.

Check For Deals

The on-campus markets are known for offering special discounts and deals that vary every month as inventory is rotated out and seasonal products come and go. It might be worth it to venture over to your closest on-campus market convenience store to find out if you can save a little here or there.

Beg Your Friends

Chances are one of your friends is rolling in that level three meal plan budget and has the extra dollars to burn. Instead of going on a spending spree at the Creamery the day before they’re set to go home, consider guilt-tripping one of your friends to spending some of their monopoly money LionCash wealth to let you eat for another day.
