Maniac Barber Takes Over Schwab!

DSC05460Well… kind of. Starting on Thursday the Penn State Thespians will be performing the Tony Award-winning musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Performances will run from Thursday Oct 29 – Saturday Oct 31, with nightly showings at 7:30 pm. There will be an additional matinee performance on Saturday at 2:00 pm.

As described by the press release;

Recently made known to millions by the cinematic production staring Johnny Depp, this comedic thriller takes you back to 19th century London where Sweeney Todd seeks revenge on a malicious judge for destroying his life and family. Sweeney’s cutthroat view of the world sends him into a life of revulsion and slaughter, paired with a business relationship with immoral baker Mrs. Lovett.  She uses the results of his macabre revenge in her recipes to make “the tastiest meat pies in London.”

Tickets are $8 for Penn State students, $8.50 for children 18 and under, and $12 for adults. The Saturday showings will have ticket prices of $6 for everyone.

Three Words: For the Glory

When I sat back one night in January thinking about my time at Penn State, I tried to come up with a single word that would adequately describe my experiences here. As I attempted to determine what that magic word might be, my mind began to grasp the absurdity of that challenge. How could I possibly distill four years of my life, countless friendships, and untold numbers of memories, down to a single word? An impossible task to be sure. So instead, I took the easier road and went with three words: For the Glory.
