10 Questions: Glee Club THON

I was lucky enough to be able to ask a few questions to John Livingston, a dancer of Glee Club THON, which is exactly like the TV show. Just kidding, guys, don’t hurt me.

OS: How are you involved in THON?

John: Through the Penn State Glee Club, and I decided to do THON after.

OS: What has your team done?

John: We’ve gone canning all four weekends, and we also hosted Penny Wars at high schools in the Hollidaysburg area.

OS: How many years have you been involved in THON?

John: First.

OS: What is your favorite part of THON?

John: The exorbitant amount of energy present in this room. And the colors. The vibrant colors. And you can tell it’s early in THON because I’m using words like “exorbitant.”

OS: What motivated you to be a dancer?

John: My brother danced at THON four years ago and I though it was the coolest thing ever. I thought THON was the coolest thing ever. That’s one of the reasons why I came to Penn State.

OS: What song do you hope they play this weekend?

John: “You Belong With Me” by T-Swift. Over and over again.

OS: How would you rate your dance skills?

John: On a scale of 1 to 10? Probably 12 ½. How would other people rate them? Probably a solid 4.

OS: What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen so far this weekend?

John: Graham Spanier walked about four feet in front of me.

OS: If you were a dinosaur, what kind would you be?

John: Velociraptor, no question. That was the easiest question you asked.

Don’t worry about what you should be doing, or how what you’re doing is going to fit into the cadre of college—or Penn State, for that matter—predetermined by our culture. Go make your own Penn State, without any expectations; you’ll be much happier.
