Last night's University Park Undergraduate Association meeting, perhaps the shortest of the semester, opened up with a few words from President Christian Ragland. He mentioned that the UPUA won an Award from the State College Borough Council, he was working on putting together a diversity seminar, and that he was also hoping to garner support from other university student council president to show encouragement for Joseph Igbineweka, a student president from Chico State University in California that was stabbed in a hate crime.

The ratatat of a 50 Caliber Machine Gun firing blanks kept campers awake last weekend as cadets from our Air Force ROTC unit deployed to Penn State's camp grounds in Stone Valley on a field training exercise (FTX). Cadets were able to test their leadership skills and their air power battle knowledge in order to out-maneuver enemy forces led by senior cadets and active duty Air Force officers.

While you may have heard how great Get Him to the Greek is, and that its co-stars, Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, enjoy "Would You Rather" more than they perhaps should, I wanted to offer my more in-depth take on the film.
As Jonah Hill said in the post-movie Q&A session Monday night, the film is made for "people our age" (20-somethings), and it definitely doesn't pull any punches. That being said, I found it to be one of the more though provoking "road-trip" comedies I've seen.

It looks as if Jared Odrick is not the only Penn Stater heading to New York City Thursday for the 2010 NFL Draft. For the second time in that many years, Penn State's very own ComRadio--represented by Dan Krupinsky and Brian Tripp-- will also be in attendance, providing a live broadcast to everyone in Happy Valley.

The Penn State Advanced Vehicle Team is holding a vote for you to name their custom-built EcoCAR. There are a variety of choices; you can pick your favorite here. Potential names were submitted by kids from the State College area. Voting runs through midnight on Saturday, April 24. Personally, I think "The Situation" is the only choice, but maybe that's just me.
You may be asking yourself, "What is the Penn State EcoCAR?" A team of Penn Staters is participating in a contest with other college students, sponsored by the Department of Energy and GM. Their task is to design an engine and, using an existing Chevrolet model, modify it through innovation of their own to make it more fuel efficient and reduce its levels of greenhouse gas emissions.
