Improved Alcohol Policies, Improved Penn State

By now, we've all heard about Penn State’s recent decent drop down the party-school ladder (which is something to bep proud of), but what you may not know is how the fall came to be. While it’s definitely a mixture of things, the administration’s introduction of new policies is definitely a large component.


We’ve already experienced the introduction of frat bouncers and heightened security on the infamous State Patty’s Day, and now we can expect to see even more deterrents to the crass drinking culture here.

An Evening with Lt. Gov. Candidate Jim Cawley

At the Centre County GOP Victory Headquarters, a handful of dedicated Republican students, led by College Republicans officer Anthony Christina, phoned local residents. Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate Jim Cawley, who was in town for the Grange Fair, made a scheduled stop at the headquarters. Cawley answered a series of questions about issues affecting students.

Valerie Plame Movie Trailer Released

Valerie Plame, as the opening text in the "Fair Game" movie trailer tells you, is a wife, a mother and a spy. The film is based on the real-life undercover CIA agent and Penn State alumnae Plame. The movie stars Naomi Watts as Valerie Plame and Sean Penn as her husband Wilson.

Penn State Named Among Most Gay-Friendly in Nation

A national nonprofit group, Campus Pride, awarded Penn State a five-star rating, effectively naming ours one of the gay-friendliest campuses in the country. Of over 230 institutions surveyed, only 19 were given five out of five stars.

Big Ten Basketball Schedule Released; Penn State Shafted

The Big Ten announced its men's basketball conference schedule today and, to put it bluntly, Penn State fans should be in an uproar. Arguably Penn State's two biggest home games of the year, versus Purdue and Michigan State, will occur three days within each other. The dates? January 5 and January 8. The problem? Everyone will still be home on winter break, a schedule disappointment for all the seniors this year.
