Acacia Hosting Haunted House

Halloween in State College doesn’t have to revolve entirely around dressing in as little clothing as possible and going to frat parties. It can actually mean having a great time while sober… and at a fraternity house nonetheless (who knew that was even possible?).

For the fifth year in a row, Acacia has opened its doors, inviting the community to experience a true haunted mansion. Each year the Haunted House changes, growing bigger with intricate designs, more mazes and, of course, more monsters. The first night is geared toward State College families while the second night is for students, featuring a little more guts and gore.

“We had about 250 families come last year and about 1,000 students throughout the course of the night,” said Christopher Meyers, the Acacia House Manager who has been the official “Head of the Haunted House” for the last three years. “We’re hoping to double the amount of people attending this year. People really do enjoy the event and we think it’s a great way to give back to the community.”

If you are thinking about experiencing something different this Halloween, definitely consider heading down to Acacia! The Haunted House is free to attend and will be open from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Thursday night. The Acacia house is located at 234 Locust Lane, on the corner of East Foster and Locust. And don’t worry, you can always go out afterward.

Explaining the Fro-Yo War: Who Came Out on Top

Fro-yo (or frozen yogurt) is the latest craze to take over Happy Valley.
