Sims Discusses Direction of UPUA

Vice President for Student Affairs Damon Sims gave a special presentation at Wednesday's University Park Undergraduate Association meeting. Sims spoke for 45 minutes, chiefly about the direction and role of UPUA and student government in the upcoming era of the university. Drawing on his own experiences with student government and student leadership, he presented some interesting ideas.

The LION 90.7fm Celebrates Birthday Friday

The LION 90.7fm will be celebrating its 15th birthday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. The day also marks 59 years of student radio at Penn State.

McGloin to Start Against Michigan

UPDATE 8:48 PM: On tonight's Penn State Football Show radio broadcast, JoePa stated that Matt McGloin will be the starter. Jay Paterno later came on and said that Rob Bolden has been cleared to play, but will be a game-time decision.

After replacing freshman Rob Bolden during last week's game against Minnesota, FightOnState.com is reporting that redshirt sophomore Matt McGloin will start Saturday night's game against Michigan.

Republican Hopefuls Rally Penn State Voters

Republican candidates in the upcoming November 2 election, Patrick Toomey and Tom Corbett, made a last-minute stop at Penn State yesterday morning to urge attendees to "vote for a future."

Halloween in State College doesn't have to revolve entirely around dressing in as little clothing as possible and going to frat parties. It can actually mean having a great time while sober... and at a fraternity house nonetheless (who knew that was even possible?).

For the fifth year in a row, Acacia has opened its doors, inviting the community to experience a true haunted mansion.

Field Hockey Keeps on Rolling

The field hockey team kept on rolling last weekend, getting two straight wins over Duke and Princeton.

The #11 ranked Lions knocked off the #17 ranked Duke Blue Devils 2-1 this past Saturday. Despite Penn State having two players down for five minutes in the second half, they were able to clamp down on defense for the win.
