SPA Bringing Streetlight Manifesto to Penn State for HUB Concert

Updated Wednesday 1/12/10: The Daily Collegian confirmed that Streetlight Manifesto is being brought to Penn State by SPA. The show is set for 8:00 pm on February 7 in Alumni Hall. Go Go Gadjet will open for the band. Tickets are free for Penn State students and $5 for others. The first opportunity to purchase tickets will be on Tuesday January 25 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in Alumni Hall.

According to Streetlight Manifesto’s webpage, the band will perform on February 7 in the HUB-Robeson Center Alumni Hall. The concert preludes Streetlight’s US tour with Terrible Things, A Loss for Words, and Lionize.

No additional information about the concert has been released, but this post will be updated when it becomes available.

Those unfamiliar with Streetlight Manifesto’s music can look forward to the modern sounds of ska-punk. A little bit of classic punk mixed with the progressive sound of ska, Streetlight Manifesto is bound to keep the HUB audience dancing and skanking the night away.

The seven-member band features everything from guitars and drums to trombones and trumpets. Streetlight Manifesto is no stranger to the current music scene, kicking up mosh-pits in the previous year’s Warped Tour.

As these winter months make you feel down and out, why not shove some hipsters and hang out with a myriad of other music lovers? It seems like these concerts will only be getting better as the semester progresses. I mean, what can be better than a $250,000 end-of-the-year concert? Let’s just hope they don’t fuck it up like every other year. With warmer months on the horizon (forget the fact that it’s below freezing right now), who would you guys like to see perform somewhere on our beautiful campus?

Wash your home jersey, stock up on cases of Natty Light and make sure the cornhole and ladder golf sets have all their pieces. It’s almost football season and I can almost already smell the burgers cooking at 10 a.m. To celebrate the upcoming season, we at OnwardState along with our new friends from Stateshades.com will be running a contest giving away pairs of sunglasses.
