Mayor Welch Memorial Pool Has Big Slides

A public pool in State College? Yes, and much more. In fact, Welch Memorial Pool,  located adjacent to State College Area High School on Westerly Parkway,  is reopening on May 28 with a host of upgrades. None less significant than the massive slides and concessions.

Public pools are a beautiful thing for those who want the occasional swim on a warm summer day, yet want to avoid the costly and often overcrowded campus pools. Welch Memorial Pool is only 15 minutes from town by foot or by the R-route CATA stop near Weis Market. Plus, who doesn’t love water slides?
