Movin’ On Releases Final Act: Mates of State

After Movin' On announced its first three selections for next Friday's concert, I gave up hope on enjoying the concert. The last band was just announced though, and the surprising thing is that they are actually a good choice.

‘Bama to Face White House at Beaver Stadium

In what comes as a shock to pretty much nobody, Beaver Stadium will be a sea of white when Penn State hosts the Alabama Crimson Tide on September 10th. It was hinted a few weeks ago by Penn State football Communications & Branding Director Guido D'Elia, but a video released yesterday by Penn State football confirmed that Alabama will the first White House at Beaver Stadium since 2009.

PSU Contacts Minnesota-Duluth’s Hockey Coach

On April 9th, Scott Sandelin did something that had never happened at Minnesota-Duluth before. He brought home the NCAA Division I Hockey Championship. With 1 year remaining on his contract at UMD, Sandelin is looking like an ideal candidate for Joe Battista, associate athletic director for Ice Arena Operations and Hockey Development, who's currently on a nationwide search for Penn State's first varsity hockey coach.

Downtown Taco Bell to Relocate

If you've been downtown lately, you may have noticed the construction at 310 E. College Ave-- the former home to Old State Clothing, located between Hiester and Locust. Turns out that's the future home of the downtown Taco Bell.

Taran Buie Released from Scholarship

In news that came to no one's surprise, freshman guard Taran Buie, better known as Talor Battle's younger half-brother, was released from his scholarship according a press release that was published on Monday. Buie, who came into Penn State as a four-star recruit, committed the night that he watched his older brother, Battle, help lead the Nittany Lions to the NIT Tournament title at Madison Square Garden back in March 2009. He was thought to help with the resurrection of the basketball program that began with that tournament title.
