“Future Nittany Lions” Rock the Red Carpet at Fashion Show

48 tiny models strutted their stuff this morning, modeling the latest Nittany Lion Gear that the Penn State Bookstore has to offer. Who knew there were so many different variations of sweatpants and hoodies? All of the kids did a phenomenal job, but here are some of the highlights, in case you missed it:

  • 4 out of the 48 models said that Troy Polamalu was their favorite athlete.
  • Asked to choose a mascot if they owned a sports team, 3 picked a zebra, 2 said it would be a pig (specifically, 1 flying pig and 1 pink pig), 2 responded “Nittany Lion”, and 2 chose a monkey. Specifically, Michael Woods said his monkey would wear a white tank top and a baseball cap. Right on!
  • Layn Burger came out dressed in a Lion costume and proceeded to engage in a push up war against the Nittany Lion himself.
  • Janae Holmes said that her favorite athlete was Justin Bieber, and that her favorite movie is Never Say Never by Justin Bieber. If she had a sports team the mascot would be Justin Bieber and her favorite song is “Never Let You Go,” by none other than Justin Bieber.
  • Issac Heidlebaug walked onto the stage with a lightsaber, only to announce that he would make Yoda his fantasy team’s mascot.
  • Ella Trimble said the Steelers are her favorite athlete, sport and mascot. I think she was from Pittsburgh.
  • Taylor Swift, LMFAO and Justin Bieber were the most common picks for “favorite artist” among the models.
  • Football was the favorite sport amongst the models, with baseball and soccer trailing close behind.
