Live Bird Stolen From Nittany Mall Pet Store

The State College Police Department is investigating the theft of a live bird from Finatics Aquarium & Pet Store at the Nittany Mall.
Someone flew the coop with a Pineapple Green Cheek Conure around noon on Tuesday, February 6, according to a release issued by the police department. BirdBreeders.com lists Green Cheek Conures anywhere from $300 to $700.
The police have identified a suspect in the case based on surveillance tapes from inside the store. The woman is white, has shoulder-length or longer red hair, and “may have experience with bird handling” based on the video evidence. She was wearing a black winter coat with its hood up in the surveillance tapes.
