Men’s Hockey Schedule Revealed

It is an exciting time for Penn State Hockey. Head coach Guy Gadowsky wants to play an outdoor game at Beaver Stadium, and construction for the Pegula Ice Arena is underway. The arena will not be completed until the 2013-2014 season, but the Icers will begin play as a Division I program this fall. Their schedule for the upcoming season was released today with the graphic courtesy of GoPSUSports.

While Penn State does not officially join the Big Ten conference until the 2013-2014 season, the Nittany Lions will face two Big Ten foes in Michigan State and Wisconsin. In addition to the opener against American International, two games against Air Force in early November highlight the home schedule. Penn State will visit Union, who lost to Ferris State in the semifinals of the 2012 Frozen Four, a few weeks later.

The Nittany Lions will also play contests at the Wells Fargo Center and the Consol Energy Center, home of the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins respectively.
