Blue Out Announced for Temple Game

Last week, Penn State officially announced the theme days for the upcoming football season. Included those promotions is the ‘Blue Out’, which began last season at the Nebraska game when fans dressed all in blue for sexual abuse awareness. Last year, $47,000 was donated to charity, including $25,000 from McLanahan’s and $22,000 in game day donations. This year’s Blue Out will take place on September 22nd against Temple, and the money raised that day will go to Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR).

The Blue Out is being organized by the One Heart PSU campaign, which is a student group at Penn State. They would like everyone who is attending the Blue Out to pledge to make one promise to their commitment to altruism, and to share their promise with others through their Facebook page or the event page, or through their Twitter @BlueOut with the hashtag #OnePromise. Currently the Facebook event has over 2,700 people attending.

Official ‘Blue Out’ shirts went on sale last week at the Family Clothesline and Lion’s Pride for only $15. Beginning this week, they will also be sold at Neebo, Penn State Bookstore and Family Clothesline as well.
