The Ready Set to Headline SPA Block Party

The Penn State Student Programming Association will kick off the new school year with their second annual Nittany Block Party next week with special guest, The Ready Set.  The show will take place next Friday, September 7, at 5:30 p.m. on Pollock Road in front of the HUB. There will also be performances from various student groups and organizations, as well as food and other activities.

Although the Ready Set is a solo project created by 22-year-old, Jordan Witzigreuter, this show will feature a full band with a set list that will cover songs from the artist’s three studio albums and two EPs.  The Ready Set is signed to Decaydance Records, owned by Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, as well as Sire Records.  The band will be opening for All American Rejects and Boys Like Girls on their fall tour starting September 14th.

The Block Party is the first SPA concert event of the school year and will be sure to attract many pop-rock fans on campus.  At the very least, it’s a free event so give SPA some credit.
