The Pokémon Society’s Quiet Domination

The Penn State Pokémon Society puts the crown on the line this fall when they hope to repeat as Champions of the Intercollegiate Pokémon League. Led by founder/commissioner Alex Valente, the league features competition among six different schools, and is constantly in contact with other schools for expansion.

McLanahan’s Seeking to Profit From Unlicensed Blue Out Shirts

This weekend marks the second annual Blue Out game, an event organized to raise awareness and funds for child abuse prevention. Unfortunately, it seems as though not all State College-area businesses are on board with the organization’s altruistic, non-profit mission. McLanahan’s, Penn State’s premier destination for overpriced groceries and Silas Redd jerseys, is marketing their own unlicensed “Blue Out” shirt for this weekend’s game against Temple, seemingly in direct competition with the official shirt offered by the event's organizer, Blue Out.

Penn State Ranks 46th Nationally, 49th Globally

Through a completely accurate and standardized system that relies on the credible opinions of high school guidance counselors, US News & World Report ranked Pennsylvania State University at University Park as the 46th best college in America for 2013.

But wasn't our dear Alma mater recently ranked as 49th best university in the world a few weeks ago?

NCAA Creates Task Force to Spend $60 Million Fine

The NCAA appointed a 10-member task force yesterday to determine how to distribute the $60 million fine that Penn State is required to pay as a result of the NCAA sanctions. The funds will be distributed to child sexual abuse and victim treatment programs and charities.

Questions for Bill O’Brien to Ponder

In a few hours, Bill O'Brien will have his Tuesday press conference where he fields questions from reporters in the Beaver Stadium media room. The coach has some more positive things to think about following his first victory in a game that saw many young players see their first live action and make a real contribution.
