Penn State Launches Social Media Fundraiser

The Penn State Office of Annual Giving (yes, that’s a real thing) is holding a social media “fundraiser” for the next two weeks to help out a few students in the future.

With a simple “like” of the Penn State Forever Facebook page, or a follow on Twitter (@PennStForever), $1 will be donated to the Microfinance Match Fund thanks to alumnus and former Board of Trustees candidate Tom Sharbaugh (@PSUMicrofinance).

The fund is an emergency loan set up for students needing financial aid. After graduation, this loan is less expensive to pay off than most private loans.

Sharbaugh will donate up to $10,000 as a part of this fundraiser in order to help market the “For The Future” campaign, a way to encourage students to make Penn State one of the best universities in the world.

So hit like, hit follow, and help a fellow student pay for college with two simple clicks.
