Who’s on the Ballot in State College?

With the national election less than 24 hours away, do you know who you’re voting for, Penn State?

Your decision on who you would like to see as your next president may have been decided by the countless debates, party conviction, or even Onward State’s info-graphic on the top two candidates. But this election season, don’t just vote for the rest of the positions by either party affiliation or who ever has the coolest name. Here is a comprehensive look at everyone who is on the ballot in State College voting districts from auditor general to state senate to general assembly representative.

President/Vice President:

Barack Obama/Joe Biden ( @obama2012 /Facebook)
✓ Democratic
✓ Pro: Under President Obama, the economy has shown 32 months of growth. Oh, he killed Osama Bin Laden.
✓ Con: Depending on who you ask — Obamacare. Obama has also increased drone strikes. Oh, and he was born in Kenya.
✓ Slogan: Forward

Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan ( @MittRomney /Facebook)
✓ Republican
✓ Pro: Romney is a seasoned businessman who turned around the finances of the Olympics in Salt Lake City.
✓ Con: Flip-floppin’, rich, old, white venture capitalist who’s seen — at times — to be either out-of-touch with moderate voters.
✓ Slogan: Believe in America

Gary Johnson/James P. Gray ( @GovGaryJohnson /Facebook)
✓ Libertarian
✓ Pro: Johnson is the main candidate fighting to repeal the NDAA and legalize marijuana.
✓ Con: Johnson won’t shut up about the NDAA and legalizing marijuana.
✓ Slogan: The People’s President or Be Libertarian With Me

Jill Stein/Cheri Honkala ( @jillstein2012 /Facebook)
✓ Green Party
✓ Pro: The only real crusader for the environment on the ballot. Stein also wants to make higher education free.
✓ Con: Stein is a hippie who has no clue how to bankroll her policies. Wants to make organic farming America’s past time. Has been arrested twice in the past two weeks.
✓ Slogan: A President for the 99%

U.S. Senator:

Bob Casey Jr. ( @Bob_Casey /Facebook)
✓ Democratic
✓ Pro: Bob Casey’s top priority is Pennsylvania jobs. He’s also a huge supporter of veterans.
✓ Con: A pro-life democrat.
✓ Slogan: Putting Pennsylvania’s working-class families first in Washington D.C.

Tom Smith ( @TomSmithforPA /Facebook)
✓ Republican (Tea Party)
✓ Pro: Smith wants to end out of control federal spending and reform social security and Medicare
✓ Con: Said pregnancy from rape was similar to “having a baby out of wedlock.”

✓ Libertarian
✓ Pro: Proposed a “Senatorial Democracy Forum” to encourage voters to install democracy into our Constitution.
✓ Con: Besides looking like child abductor, he has no real policy but loves bitching about American “plutocracy.”

Congressional Representative:

Charles Dumas ( @CharlesDumas5th/Facebook)
✓ Democrat
✓ Pro: Wants to end deadlock in congress. Listed as a progressive by Keystone Progress.
✓ Con: He’s an avid supporter of Obama despite the president’s unfavorable position with many progressives.

✓ Republican
✓ Pro: Doesn’t just preach about cutting government spending, but decreasing the deficit with efficient spending.
✓ Con: Is a friend of the ever unpopular natural gas industry and an enemy of the EPA.

✓ Pro: Has generated record revenue when faced with a record low state budget. Helped fund the College Savings Program.

✓ Con: Cited by police for a … duh, duh duh … parking ticket.
