Penn State Featured on mtvU.com

It’s not quite Carson Daily chronicling the day’s most talked about music from wall-length windows in Time Square, but MTV continues to pay homage to the artists filling our headphones — even if it’s between news about Snooki’s latest embarrassing stint caught on tape. This week, Penn State caught some of that attention on mtvU’s College Radio Countdown.

Off The Wallz, a radio show on @TheLION907fm hosted by football player gone rapper, Mike Wallz, was chosen as one of the college radio shows highlighted in @mtvU’s running series on campus music scenes across the nation. The #OffTheWallzRadio crew gave MTV a 30 second spot that flashed scenes of campus and took the world into the studio to check out the hits that are bumping on Happy Valley’s airwaves.

Here’s a video of all of the songs chosen by @Mike_Wallz and the Off The Wallz crew that fit the campus music vibe here at Penn State.

Also notable was the love shown to Penn State’s up-and-coming rapper, Crystal Seth (@Crystal_Seth). The video for “The Labyrinth” which features Bubba Sparxxx was tweeted out by @mtvU, re-tweeted by @mtv2 and gained over 20 other re-tweets from the national exposure. You can also find a short write-up about the track on mtvU’s Tumblr.

Seth is a hungry artist with his eyes set on the big time. This flirt with fame is only a preview of what is in store for one of our fellow Nittany Lions with a dirty flow and a damn good story to tell. To read more about “The Labyrinth,” check out Onward State’s detailed coverage here or watch the video below.
