Centre Daily Times: Paterno Family’s Counter Report Coming Sunday

The Paterno family is set to release its counter to the Freeh Report on Sunday morning, the Centre Daily Times is reporting. According to a CDT source, the 180 page report will be released and discussed on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The report was commissioned by the Paterno family shortly after the release of the Freeh report this summer, and will undoubtedly look to exonerate the late coach. According to the CDT, this new report addresses each of the claims in the Freeh Report point by point.

This marks the beginning of a potential PR offensive for the Paternos, with Sue Paterno set to appear on Katie Couric’s show Monday night.

It’s hard to say what exactly will be in the report. Of course, like the Freeh report, there is likely to be a lot of editorializing. But any facts or anecdotes the Paterno family may have uncovered about Freeh’s investigative tactics will be certainly be welcomed.
